I have been in psychiatry since 1995, I enjoy working with patients and being a partner as they to strive to reach their mental health goals. I started my career as a General medicine/Family medicine physician in 1985. I found that I very much enjoyed spending more time talking to patients about things that were going on with them and in their lives.

After completing my residency at Georgetown University in Psychiatry, I joined the University of Maryland, Department of Psychiatry as faculty and an Assistant professor in 1999. During my time there as both the Medical Director of the Psychiatric outpatient clinic and the Acting Division Director for Adult Psychiatry Services , I was privileged to teach medical students and other doctors about psychiatry and its importance in our every day lives. My role as Master Clinician Designee at The University of Maryland Medical Center afforded me the opportunity to work closely with a variety of physicians to improve their understanding of the importance of sound mental health in all our patients lives.

I truly believe that stable mental health is crucial to enjoying other parts of your life. I became board certified in 2001. As a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I have been able to combine my interest area in psychopharmacology and background in general medicine to provide up to date, and evidence based compassionate care to my patients for a wide variety of psychiatric conditions. We are open to providing options for adults, either seeking treatment, a second opinion or an evaluation. We have special interests in the areas of concentration difficulties, Anxiety treatment and weight management especially as it relates to this being a side effect of medication.

My goal with every patient is to listen with patience and empathy, together we can come up with a plan that addresses your needs.
At our practice we truly believe that good treatment outcomes are based on team effort. We are feel privileged that you have chosen us to be part of your team.

Please call or email us so we can continue this conversation.
